Distorted Projections
Our perceptions of the world are illusions –
mere projections of past experiences, further
distorted by our fears and desires.
Ambition vs Aspiration
Satisfaction in life is earned in every moment –
no ‘goal’, once achieved, brings lasting fulfillment.
Once conquered, it makes way for another.
Ambition becomes relentless pursuit of the next.
Should we exercise aspiration
in place of ambition?
Who do I aspire to be?
Fulfillment seems to flow from living up to
my own expectations. In every moment,
continuously earned, as
demanded by every choice and act.
The Problem with Labels
The labels we use
to describe each other
and ourselves
cannot capture
our ever changing nature.
They confine our minds
to moments in time,
anchoring us to perceptions
that distort who we’ve become
and suppress who we’re becoming.
